Take “Earth” — the big ball of clay we call home, add “keeper” — a protector or guardian and you've got someone who cares about the environment - Timberland's Earthkeepers.
Earthkeepers are people doing small things, like recycling and using public transit, and biking to work. Or bigger things, like volunteering to plant trees and opting for a hybrid sedan instead of a gas-guzzling SUV.
Timberland started Earthkeepers because they love the outdoors. Making outdoor boots, shoes and gear is what they do for a living.
Timberland realizes that by manufacturing products, they're part of the problem. Solution? Timberland took a look at how the way they do business affects the environment and did something about it.
Earthkeepers is about educating and inspiring outdoor enthusiasts to protect Mother Earth, and it's about changing the way Timberland makes shoes.
Timberland is cutting back their plant and distribution center emissions, using renewable energy and putting more organic and recycled materials in their gear.
From recycled rubber soles, to recycled pop bottle boot laces, Timberland is producing some of today's most advanced eco-friendly outdoor boots, shoes and gear.
